An uncertainty principle and applications to complex analysis
Venue: Gian Maria Dall'Ara - Aula Buzano (DISMA Politecnico di Torino)
I will discuss the idea of applying an appropriate "uncertainty principle" to the classical d-bar problem in complex analysis. Despite some connection of the latter with Schrödinger operators has been known for some time (going back to work of M. Christ among others), only in a recent collaboration with S. Mongodi we have been able to apply these ideas to the classical problem of obtaining sharp subelliptic estimates for the d-bar Neumann equation. The talk will not assume previous familiarity with analysis and PDEs in several complex variables.
